Firstly a note (to self for reference at NAVCA later) and to readers who are interested in this kind of thing.
Conversations in the ICT Hub Cafe kicked off by Paul Caplan have now developed through posts from both David Wilcox and Laura Whitehead into not just the original thoughts about appropriate use of the best Social Tools for [...]

I was in a meeting in Hull this afternoon with Colin Harrison (Yorkshire & Humber ICT champion) when I mentioned that an event, a funding source or an relevant topic for the sector only needed to be briefly mentioned and it would be up on Colin’s blog before the end of the day! The blog [...]

It wasn’t meant as a challenge, but Tony Okotie, the East Midlands Regional Champion has been doing some research into alternatives to proprietary ICT equipment. It can’t beat the Bristol Wireless crew on price, but this is a brand new laptop from ASUS running Linux, Open Office and all the FOSS software you could want.
To [...]

Please help yourself.
There’s a great buzz at the Ruralnet 2007 conference at the Belfry, and its not just around the free ICT Hub guides - the buzz is around Web 2.0. The boundaries between blogs and websites have been well and truly blurred thanks to a session from Paul Henderson “aided!” by the East [...]

Its been nearly a month since my last posting on the blog. Hectic could describe the past few weeks, my work at NAVCA for the Hub has involved co-ordination and checking of the Regional Champions plans, their regional meetings and the other work NAVCA are involved with for the hub (SKiLD and the Unmet Needs [...]

Live blogging from the Voluntary Action Wakefield District Web 2.0 event kicked off by Steve Walker from Leeds Metropolitan University.
This may all be old hat to the usual visitors to this site, but for those in the St. Catherine’s Centre its a record of the day. Excuses first as this blog entry was built as [...]

Done!
Yesterday in glorious sunshine at the fantastic Genesis centre we held the last of the ICT Hub’s series of regional conferences - a point of reflection, but a time to look forward too. Since March 2006 we have visited eight towns and cities (Newcastle, Liverpool, Reading, Chesterfield, York, Cambridge, Walsall and Taunton) and welcomed almost [...]

Oh the cynic in me says the Threshers 40% off vouchers wern’t actually a “mistake”, they claimed to be worried about profit margins, but how many more customers did they get as a result - put “marketing plan” and “leading up to holiday season” into a sentence and see what you get.
Sadly off-licence [...]

Still thinking about those Yaks (as are a quite a few other bloggers), but what about those of us who have a life and just want a bit of harmless entertainment, but with a bit of a purpose? Well I’ve gathered together the following links to on-line games with a message behind each…. the beauty [...]

Web 2.0 is wonderful - although I do laugh every-time I read the line in “Is it Just Me or is Everything S**t” that says “Web 2.0…. i’ve not finished reading the first one yet”!
Anyway, what prompted this was the news that in “Second Life” you can now donate money to Save The Children in [...]
