One of the roles of the ICT Hub is to hold up shining examples of where technology is being used as a powerful force for good, but not to force that technology (or ICT) for its own sake.
As regular readers know I’m always on the lookout for infrastructure organisations such as CVS’ using new media [...]

If I was working in the private sector my OTE would be seriously dented after this morning, fortunately the work we do isn’t about closing deals or signing up punters - something which I’ve known for a long time, but something certainly the private sector … and I have to say something even within our [...]

Today was a “Metro 10 page day” - thats how much of the Metro I can digest in my 15 minute train journey from Chesterfield into Sheffield, pretty average really. (As of today there is water in that cascade they have taken ages to build, and they have finally found a way to strip the [...]

Someone at one of my regional meetings* this week make an observation that’s worth sharing. He said “its only by going out of your safe environment, taking a step back, and seeing how someone else has tackled an ICT problem that you can go back invigorated to do it yourself”. Wise words!
For me, the highlight [...]
