This could become a bit of a “Champs on Tour” following on from the blog entry that Miles posted last week.

It wasn’t meant as a challenge, but Tony Okotie, the East Midlands Regional Champion has been doing some research into alternatives to proprietary ICT equipment. It can’t beat the Bristol Wireless crew on price, but this is a brand new laptop from ASUS running Linux, Open Office and all the FOSS software you could want.
To [...]

What’s the lowest price you can find for a desktop PC?
The Sunday papers always have adverts for best value machines from the likes of ‘Dixons World’ or ‘PC Comet Express’ at the bargain price of £299, if you go to an on-line shopping site you can pick one up for around £230 (inc VAT), but [...]

Its a bit of theme it seems with blog posts … to be song titles. I do it occasionally, but nothing like at much as on the Hastings VA blog.
Picking up the title - firstly money for projects…
I was at the West Midlands ICT Network meeting today and the question of funding ICT came up [...]

Thought I’d pull together a couple of blog posts from around the regions tonight.
Famous for its cathedral, Ely now has another outstanding landmark… The Advice for Life Space Shuttle! My South West readers know all about this amazing vehicle from its tour around the villages of that region over the past few years. Well now [...]

A post to bring together two stories about the ICT Hub and FOSS and our New Media work - you may have seen them already and might wonder why i’m linking to two blogs that don’t have 100% favorable things to say about our work.
Well the posts are out there so we certainly couldn’t and [...]

You should blog whenever the urge takes you - when you really have a story to tell; well I’m currently sat squashed up on a crowded train heading back from London after a really useful, if busy day of meetings and conversations.
Firstly I spent a couple of hours with Miles, who is the London Region [...]

So today rather than posting my thoughts (it would only be about the ICT Hub Ops Group meeting anyway, although EmTee did [...]
