Colin alerted me to the BASIS round 1 announcement that came out a couple of days ago.
Out of the £8.3 million awarded at least £1.4 million has gone specifically to purely ICT projects – not a bad start and of course there could be more hidden in some of the other awards.
A quick rundown from the BASIS website is..
AbilityNet – £699,644, Havering AVCO – £274,147 and Virtual Riders (Hull) – £425,900.
It represents three areas where the winners are front line organisations who will be benefiting from improved ICT infrastructure services or support, but there is still a long way to go … lets see if Capacitybuilders can add to this good news story later next week with a positive announcement about funding for ICT .

Fingers crossed for the Capacitybuilders annoucement!
Good to see Basis supporting some ICT projects, although here in Devon for infrastructure in general was pretty poor last year for CVS development and capacity building for orgs work which was needed to enable things like ICT to come to the fore next once core services were supported and improved on a grass roots level!
