You may remember in this post back in August I mentioned the Rumbles Catering project. Well, I was so pleased for them on Saturday night when they were announced as winners in their category of Best Education Project at the National Lottery Good Causes awards on BBC1.
Rumbles is a cafe project within Vicar Water Country Park near Mansfield which has been sucessfully giving life skills and practical catering qualifications to disadvantaged young people and those with learning difficulties since 1998.
So, if you are ever in Mansfield; exploring Robin Hood country around Clipstone or admiring the impressive headstocks at the old pit make a point to visit Rumbles too!
On the subject of well deserved winners, Cosmic who host the ICT Hub South West Regional Champion have been named regional winners in the 2007 Edge Awards. Not unlike the winners at Rumbles, the Edge awards promote practical and vocational learning.
Well done to both.
